Initial Strip Down

I am getting this blog up to date with where I am at with this project.  Last weekend I go the fairings off and started the clean down.

Here is the results:

Here all the fairings are removed and laid out with the rolling frame.  All pieces of the fairing are with the bike the only components missing is the headlight, front indicators and the switch gear.

It is interesting that both the front and rear shock absorbers on this bike are gas filled.  In addition the front forks have an “anti-dive” setup the prevents the front from diving (compressing) under heavy breaking.  The front rotors are in very good condition and the shock absorbers all round seem to be fine.

Rear Gas Shock

Here is the rear shock with the gas fillup tube.  Note that the frame has a little bit of surface oxidation that I will have to remove.
